Newsletter 13th February 2015
News round-up
Over the last two weeks the
children have been making lanterns for our Chinese New Year display. As this
year is the year of the goat we have been making Goat lanterns. The children
helped to trace and cut out the lanterns out of card, before colouring in and
sticking their goats in the middle. If you’ve never seen a Blue and purple Goat
before then please take a look at our display or alternatively take a peek at
our blog. http://robinhoodfriendlyfaces.blogspot.co.uk
Next Two week focus
When we come back after Half
Term we will (hopefully) be well on the way to spring and we will be making a
start on our spring display. We will be doing a spring Barn and the children
will be making Flowers out of egg boxes, and spring farm animals out of card
and tissue paper as well as cotton wool for those fluffy lambs and bunnies.

Friendly Faces Newsletter
News round-up
Happy New Year. Christmas
seems like a very distant memory now, but the New Year is definitely well under
way.
We have had a very busy
few weeks, leading up to breakfast week – 26th – 30th
January.
We started off
researching what children in other countries have for breakfast before tasting
some of the new foods. We had found the children loved Waffles but nobody was a
fan of Japanese Miso Soup! We then went on to make some delicious breakfasts
together, from Smoothies to Wholemeal Banana breakfast cake.
You will have noticed
the ‘Special of the day’ sign when you walked into Friendly Faces which
encouraged the children to try different foods such as croissants and bagels.
After school the
children participated in some breakfast related team games in the hall. The
breakfast relay was definitely a hit and the hall was a wash of names as the
children cheered on of their team mates.
Next Two week focus
Leading up to half term
we will be making a start on our spring display, the little lambs will be here
before we know it, as well as doing some Chinese New Year activities.
